Assessment Information
Selection assessment – do your qualities suit the job?
What is a selection assessment?
When you or your manager require more certainty about whether you are suitable for a specific job, a selection assessment can help to provide clarity about your chances of success and about possible areas in which you could improve.
A selection assessment takes approximately half a day and is done at our office in Baarn.
How does it work? In consultation with the client or on the basis of the job description, the required competencies are defined, after which a programme with tests en practical assignments is drawn up. This is aimed at objectifying your capacities and qualities, in relationship to the competencies selected. Programme elements may include:
- an interview
- intelligence tests
- personality tests
- simulation exercises (role play and/or written situation ethics)
- reflection assignments
On the basis of your presentations, an advisor will produce a report. This represents a clear assessment of your qualities in relation to the job - with an explanation and concrete advice about your suitability for the job.
Within two days after the assessment, the results will be discussed with you by telephone. During this conversation you may also indicate whether you would like to have a personal face-to-face follow-up conversation. You will receive the written report no more than five working days after the completion of the assessment.
Development / career assessment – how can I develop myself in a specific direction?
What is a development assessment? When you want a new job or a job at a different level, or when you - or your manager - have the idea that you could develop yourself further within your current job, then a development assessment may help you to define more clearly the areas in which you could develop further.
How does at work? A development assessment takes anything from half a day to a full day and is done at our office in Baarn. During an intake conversation, we help to clarify the issues involved and what the focus of the development assessment should be. Following this, a programme with the appropriate tests and practical assignments is drawn up. This is aimed at objectifying your capacities and qualities in relation to the issues involved. Programme elements may include:
- an interview
- intelligence tests
- personality tests
- simulation exercises (role play and/or written situation ethics)
- reflection assignments
A few days later, an extensive follow-up discussion takes place. This is accompanied by a written report. The report is first presented to the candidate, who then decides who else will have access to it. If necessary, a few advisory conversations will follow.

Personal profile - getting to know yourself better and gaining more insight into others.
What is the personal profile? The personal profile of the Galan Group is an aid to help you gain self-knowledge and it also offers you more insight into the people in your environment. It provides you with a powerful image of your personal styles and response patterns and helps you to respond to your environment in a more effective way.
The process aimed at delivering your personal profile consists of the completion of a test and two conversations.
How does it work? In order to define your personal profile we use one of the most accurate personality profiles in the world - the Insights Discovery. You only have to fill in the questionnaire via the internet – this takes approximately 20-30 minutes. The information you provide is then analysed automatically and converted into a personal report. This report covers many issues, among others:
- your personal style
- your qualities and areas that could be developed
- the value you have for a team
- the way you relate to others
To allow you to benefit optimally from your personal profile, an experienced advisor will discuss the results with you during a personal conversation. After mutual consultation, we will then together agree on a reflection assignment to be done and this will be followed by a second conversation, which will complete the process.
